Pathology Services
What We Offer
Nematode Testing
Nematode testing can detect and identify plant-parasitic nematodes associated with seed, soil and root samples. Seed-borne nematodes can be particularly important as they have the potential to spread between growing regions and establish in new paddocks.
Testing can help determine whether nematodes are present and provide valuable information for seed health, crop establishment, disease diagnosis and biosecurity.
Forage Toxicity Testing
At AgQWA, we test the safety of livestock feed samples for a range of factors which can affect livestock health. We can provide analysis on prussic acid, oxalate and nitric acid levels so you can be sure that your livestock are safe.
We can also test for pH and moisture in both soil and forage samples; available mid-October.
Mycotoxin Testing
Mycotoxins are chemical compounds produced naturally by certain types of molds which can contaminate crops and animal feed. Toxins accumulate, with the risk of causing illness and sometimes death in livestock.
Available mid-October, we will provide rapid analysis of 4 common mycotoxins; Fumonisin, Total aflatoxin, Deoxynivalenol, and Zearalenone.
Other Services
While we are still working towards a full pathology lab, we offer a few services in-house, including the ones listed above. For other pathology requests, we will happily pass samples on to the AgEtal team in Queensland who have a fully equipped laboratory and years of experience.
Please get in touch with any requests. It is always helpful to understand which areas are in demand and how we can work towards offering testing services to help you in the future.
